11/27/2014

Estonian citizen’s passport is a travel document issued to a citizen of Estonia by the Republic of Estonia.
By applying for the passport, an applicant is required to give fingerprints (starting from age of 12) that are entered to the applicant’s passport.

Reminder for user of passport.

As an exception, it is possible to apply for a passport without fingerprint images, if:

  • An Estonian citizen’s passport or ID-card has formerly been issued to You and
  • You are staying in a foreign country, where there is no foreign representation of the Republic of Estonia, or where it is unproportionately burdensome for You to address a foreign representation of the Republic of Estonia.

When submitting an application for a passport without fingerprint images through an authorized representative, then such representative must hold a corresponding authorization letter in simple written form. Passport without fingerprint images shall be issued with validity period up to one year.
