Information about processing the application

An application for a residence permit is accepted for processing on the date of its submission. An application, which is submitted by post, is accepted for processing at the latest on the working day following the date of its arrival.

The application is examined and the  decision as to whether to issue, or refuse to issue, a long-term residence permit is made within 3 months from the date of submission of the application, but not later than 10 days before the date of expiry of the temporary residence permit.

If the due date for submission of an application is restored, then the application is examined and the decision as to whether to issue, or refuse to issue, or to resume, or refuse to resume a long-term residence permit is made within 3 months from the date of submssion of the application.

If there are any deficiencies in the application, the processing of the application shall be suspended until rectification of the deficiencies. If the applicant shall not rectify the deficiencies concerning the application or the documents added to it, or shall not submit the required documents by the designated term, then his/her application will not be processed.

The aforesaid terms for examination of an application may be extended so as to check the correctness of data submitted in the application and other documents, and whether the application is justified for examination of an application.

An applicant shall be informed on the basis of contact data provided in the application, about the issue of a residence permit, the place of issue, the extension of the period of processing of his/her application, the refusal to process his/her application or the refusal to issue a residence permit.

Upon the issue of the residence permit an alien is issued a residence card at the place of issue given in the application. The document is issued to an alien personally.
A residence card of a minor less than 15 years of age shall be issued to a legal representative at the place of issue given on the application.
