• Application form (complete  on screen or  print out and fill in by hand,  more precise instructions for filling. NB! Must be filled out in Estonian);
• an identity document of the applicant;
• a document certifying the permanent and legal income of the applicant during the six months preceding the submission of the application, indicating the amount, regularity and sources of the income, except if  maintenance to the applicant is ensured by his or her family member*;
• certificate of proficiency in the Estonian language i.e. knowledge of the Estonian language at least at B1 level established by the language act or level corresponding to that**;
• 1 colour photo sized 40x50 mm;
• a document certifying the payment of the state fee.

 
* If  maintenance to the applicant is ensured by his or her family member, then the following documents shall be submitted in addition to the afore:

1. a document certifying kinship or matrimony;
2. a document certifying the permanent and legal income of the family member ensuring maintenance of the applicant during the six months preceding the submission of the application, indicating the amount, regularity and sources of the income;
3. a warranty of the family member ensuring maintenance that he/she will ensure the maintenance.

**Alien who has acquired basic, secondary or higher education in the Estonian language is not required to pass the examination.

The following documents shall be submitted upon application for long-term residence permit for children less than 1 year of age:

• application form (complete  on screen or  print out and fill in by hand,  more precise instructions for filling. NB! Must be filled out in Estonian);
• identification document of the child, where present;
• birth certificate of the child (if the birth of the child was registered in a foreign state);
• 1 colour photo sized 40x50 mm;
• a document certifying the payment of the state fee.
