A collection of weapons and cartridges (hereinafter - collection) is an organised set of weapons and cartridges with historical or cultural value which is used or which it is possible to use as an exhibition or for research.

A collection may be founded and maintained by a citizen of Estonia, by an alien holding a valid Estonian residence permit of at least 18 years of age or a legal person registered in Estonia on the basis of a collection permit for weapons and cartridges (hereinafter - collection permit) granted by the prefecture or its structural unit.

Documents required for application

By physical person:
•    an application (shall be fulfilled on-site) where purpose of collection is to be shown, - type of weapons and cartridge to be collected and conditions of their storage;
•    passport or ID-card;
•    health certificate;
•    2 photos by size of 30x40 mm

By representative of a legal person:
•    an application (shall be fulfilled on-site) where purpose of collection is to be shown, - type of weapons and cartridge to be collected and conditions of their storage;
•    a copy of a decision made by the legal person concerning the appointment of a person responsible for weapons and ammunition and of his or her substitute;
•    a certificate setting out the given name, surname, personal identification code, residence, office and telephone number of the person responsible and of his or her substitute, and information regarding the exams passed by these persons;
•    a copy of the articles of association (statutes) of the legal person;

State fee:
•    Application for permit of collecting weapons and cartridge - 12,78 euro / 200 EEK

Physical or legal person intending to found or maintain collection, shall submit the relevant application to the local prefecture.
