What are the requirements for applying for a residence permit for enterprise for a large investor?
- You must have made a lasting direct investment in the amount of at least 1,000,000 euros into an Estonian company investing into the Estonian economy, or
- you must have made a lasting direct investment in the amount of at least 1,000,000 euros into an investment fund which invests primarily into Estonian companies.
- You must have sufficient income (six times the subsistence level) for subsistence in Estonia, which you shall confirm by signing the application. The subsistence level shall be established each year in the State Budget Act.
- You must have a medical insurance policy, which you shall confirm by signing the application. The requirements regarding the medical insurance policy are listed in section 120 (“Insurance cover”) of the Aliens Act.
- After receipt of the residence permit, you must move to Estonia and register your place of residence in the Population Register.
What is meant by a lasting investment?
An investment is lasting if it is not reduced during the period of validity of the residence permit, except due to fluctuations in the market price. As a large investor you may change the recipient of the investor provided that the new recipient invests in the Estonian economy or is an investment fund which invests in Estonian companies.
