Registering your place of residence

After obtaining a residence permit, you must register your place of residence with the local government. Within one month from receiving the residence permit (or from first arriving in Estonia on the basis of the residence permit), you are required to register your place of residence, and it must remain registered throughout the validity of the residence permit.

Fulfilling the purpose of your residence permit

A residence permit is issued for a specific purpose, and this purpose must always be fulfilled. If the purpose of the residence permit ceases, the residence permit may be revoked.
