What do I need to do to apply for extension of the right of temporary residence?

1. Apply for extension of the right of residence at least 1 month before expiry.
2. Submit the required documents and pay the state fee.
3. Applications submitted in due time are answered no later than 10 days before the expiry of the valid right of residence.

If your fingerprints were taken within the last 6 years and you have a valid residence card, you can also have your right of residence extended by e-mail.

What documents are needed to apply for the extension of the right of temporary residence?

If you apply for an extension of the right of residence, you must submit:

• temporary right of residence application form
• the details of your close relatives and family members, if there are any changes
• EU citizen’s confirmation for the settlement of a family member in Estonia
• a document certifying that you are a family member of an EU citizen, for example, a marriage certificate, adoption certificate or other appropriate document
• an identity document
• digital photo
• a document certifying payment of the state fee, e.g., a payment order.

The processor of the application may ask you to submit additional information or documents, if necessary.
