Certificate of record of service on Estonian ships
What is it?
A certificate of record of service on ships is a travel document that complies with the requirements of the Seafarers’ Identity Documents Convention of the International Labour Organisation and is issued to a foreign seafarer who holds a right of residence or a residence permit in Estonia and who is employed on a civilian ship registered in a State party to the Convention or is registered with a labour office in the territory of that State.
Any member state party to the convention may issue a seafarer’s identity document book to a seafarer who has submitted an application for obtaining the document and serves aboard a ship registered on the territory of a state party to the convention or are registered with an employment office located on the territory of that country.
The seafarer's discharge book is valid up to 5 years.
