Pick-up

E-Resident’s digital ID is issued to the applicant at the Estonian service point or the Estonian embassy indicated on the application. In case of questions regarding the arrival and pick-up of a document, please contact the Estonian service point or the Estonian embassy to which the document has been ordered. Information about the Estonian embassies is available on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

E-Resident’s digital ID can also be received through an external service provider at the following locations:

When selecting Seoul (Republic of Korea) as the pick-up location of the document, you need to pay an additional service fee of €28.50 upon retrieving the document. When selecting Tokyo (Japan) or San Francisco (USA) as the pick-up location, you need to pay an additional service fee of €30 upon retrieving the document. The service fee is paid in cash on site.

In order to pick up the e-Resident’s digital ID, the e-resident needs to appear in person at the place of issue. It cannot be issued to a representative. Upon pick-up of the document, fingerprints are taken from the e-resident.

Upon pick-up of the e-Resident’s digital ID, a valid foreign travel document needs to be submitted.

In order to change the pick-up location indicated on the application, a corresponding application needs to be submitted to the service or representation to which the document has been ordered. 

If you wish to change the pick-up location, the following additional fees apply:

  • changing the pick-up location from one Estonian embassy to another: €80
  • changing the pick-up location from one Estonian service office to another: €10
  • changing the pick-up location from an Estonian service office to an Estonian embassy: €30

 

There is no additional fee for changing the pick-up location from an Estonian embassy to an Estonian service office, but the additional €20 paid when submitting the application will not be refunded.

If the original selection of the pick-up location is an external service provider (Tokyo; Seoul; San Francisco) and you applied after the 1st of April 2019 then changing of the pick-up location is not possible. To change the pick-up location, you have to apply for a new document.
